Template:SpoilerStart Gijou was Mushin’s father, who worked as a bodyguard at Nanka’s brothel to support himself and his daughter. A scruffy ronin, Gijou was nonetheless a kind and friendly man. He befriended Kogeru when the fellow ronin came into town in poor straights. Compassionate and needing another guard, Gijou offered Kogeru a job alongside him. Soon the two worked and lived together with the ladies of the brothel, taking turns working guard shifts and watching Mushin. Moderately skilled with the blade, he made an effective bodyguard – but his skill was too little for Ontai and his thugs. During the attack on the brothel, the yakuza slew Gijou, leaving Mushin orphaned.
History[]
Gijou came from a ronin family, and spent his whole life working odd jobs and traveling to earn a living. He finally settled down and took a wife, working as a bodyguard at Nanka’s brothel to earn a steady income. He was widowed shortly after his daughter was born, and began raising the little girl on his own. A loving father, Gijou worked hard to keep a roof over his small family, and did his best to keep things together. Because Mushin had developed a fondness for Kogeru, and Gijou placed great trust in the other man, Gijou essentially left his daughter in Kogeru’s care just before he passed away.
